Cancer is chaos. And chemo? Even more so. But I’ve learned that spotting patterns — even small ones — can help me manage energy, work, life, and expectations more effectively. That’s where AI comes in.

Here’s how I’m using three very specific tools to do just that. Each plays a unique role, and together they’ve helped me feel more in control of a very uncontrollable process.

1. Custom ChatGPT Tracker

This is a personalised version of ChatGPT I’ve built out over time. I use it daily to log:

  • Symptoms (physical and emotional)

  • Mood and energy levels

  • Side effects and triggers

  • Timing of medications and supplements

It also tells me things like:

  • What I should be taking (and when) during my two-week chemo cycle

  • Which days are best to hit the gym

  • When to book acupuncture or sit in an infrared sauna

This tool is voice-enabled so I can use it even when I feel rough. And I keep improving the structure every couple of weeks as new patterns emerge.

Want to try a version of this ChatGPT? Drop me a message. I’ll send over the setup.

2. WHOOP Band

WHOOP is a wearable tracker designed to measure recovery, strain, and sleep quality. I’ve been using it for about a month, and it’s already changed how I structure my days.

What I track:

  • Daily recovery score (based on heart rate variability, resting heart rate, and sleep)

  • Sleep performance and disturbances

  • Strain from activity or stress

That recovery score is now how I decide whether to push, rest, or recalibrate. It’s not perfect, but it’s been incredibly helpful for understanding the relationship between symptoms, sleep, and performance.

WHOOP is a subscription model — but you can get a one-month trial (just cover shipping).

DM me for a link if you want to give it a go.

3. Manus.AI

Manus is hands down the most strategic AI tool I’ve used. Think of it like an assistant that helps you think deeply and build smart systems. Unlike ChatGPT, which works best in short bursts, Manus helps build entire frameworks across multiple documents and projects.

Here’s what I use it for:

  • Synthesising daily data from ChatGPT and WHOOP

  • Mapping out chemo cycles and identifying patterns

  • Generating strategic recommendations and checklists

It’s methodical, memory-aware, and brilliant at solving complex challenges. I use it to create reports on each chemo cycle, highlighting what's working, what's not, and what to try next. They’ve just added a new chat function too — no more paying per query with credits.

Curious about Manus? I’ll work on a sample report soon. Let me know if you want an invite.

Why This Setup Matters

Each of these tools helps me track different aspects of the same reality: living and working with cancer. Together, they offer a clearer picture of what’s actually going on — not just what it feels like.

And while none of this might change the long-term outcome, it has changed how I experience each cycle. I feel more equipped. More informed. And, most importantly, more human.

If you’re navigating something similar and want to try any of this — message me.

Until then: start using AI.
