Work with me

Let's make AI work for patients

I'm a stage 4 bowel cancer patient who uses AI every day to manage treatment, and who publishes his entire medical record in the open. If you're building, funding or communicating AI in healthcare, that's a useful perspective to have in the room before you ship.

What I do

Four ways I work with organisations

Advisory

Patient voice, before you build

Product and service reviews from the patient side: what actually helps during treatment, what adds burden, and where AI quietly fails people who feel rough. Workshops with your product, clinical or comms teams.

Consultancy

Cancer charities and AI

If you're working out where AI fits, what to say about it, and how to modernise without losing trust: I've been using these tools through treatment every day, and I know the difference between what sounds good and what helps.

Speaking

Conferences, panels, internal events

HIMSS Europe main stage, podcasts and press. Honest, funny where it should be, and never a pity story. See where I've spoken and been featured →

Writing

Comment and editorial

Nearly 20 years in communications, and a patient's view of AI in health. If you want a piece written or a comment for one, get in touch.

Specialists

Know this cancer?

Patients with a similar profile, oncologists, scientists and geneticists: here's exactly what I'm asking for.

Patients & carers

Workshops: register interest

Fancy sitting down, on a call or in person, and setting some of this up together? Tell me. If there's enough interest, I'll run them.

How it works

Patients never pay

Everything here is free for patients and always will be. Paid work with companies and organisations is what funds the time, and is invoiced through Known & Cited Ltd.

Why me

What I bring that a focus group can't

Five years of lived experience

Diagnosed in 2021. Surgery, radiotherapy, ablations and, at this point, fifteen cycles of FOLFIRI + cetuximab. I'm not describing the patient journey from a slide.

The data to back it up

My entire record is public: bloods, scans, genetics, doses, a daily chemo log. Open Source Me is the proof that I actually do this, not just talk about it.

A commercial brain

Nearly 20 years in PR, comms and operations, and I run an AI brand intelligence company. I understand your roadmap and your risk register as well as your users.

Get in touch

Say hello

Tell me which you are — a company, a charity, media, a specialist, or a patient or carer interested in a workshop — and roughly what you have in mind. Or just email me.

Replies can be slow in chemo weeks — usually the first week of a cycle. I read everything.
